My Recommended Age: Everyone!

I was in my daughter's kindergarten class stapling papers when her teacher started reading Shark vs. Train. Being the "mature mother helper" that I am, I just went about my merry work trying to ignore the giggles coming from the "story carpet". When all of a sudden, I realized that the giggles were not only coming from the carpet, they were coming from my mouth as well. This story was so cute! I loved it! I completely stopped stapling and enjoyed every page of that little gem!

Shark vs. Train is exactly what is sounds like. Who would win in the battle of Giant Shark vs. Mean Train! The story is delightful and I will admit, it wasn't until the very last page that I "got it". I guess the fortunate part of that is that I loved the ending!

Later that day, as my daughter and I were walking home, I was scolded and lectured on the importance of "carpet manners" and "staying on task". When I asked her if I embarrassed her she said, "Oh mom, you do that all the time, I just didn't want you to have to sit in the time-out chair..."

Happy Reading

  1. My four year old son is a huge train officionado! Each week when we go to the library he has to find a book about trains. I know what book we will be looking for this time!
