OK, I admit it, I even knew what was going to happen, and I still cried!
Set in a rural small town, Jess and Leslie are unlikely friends.  Jess, one of many children, is hoping to be the fastest runner in his class.  While Leslie, an only child who is often treated as an adult, is merely out for adventure.  In spite of their differences, the two become the best of friends, and find adventure exploring the world of Terabithia, a magical forest where they reign as king and queen.  Unfortunately, a tragic accident causes the magic of Terabithia to fade and one of the rulers must learn to cope alone.

For anyone who has not heard of this book, it is definitely worth reading.  Full of adventure and emotion, the story is moving and the character development is phenomenal.  It is sad, and for that reason, will probably only be enjoyed once.  In addition to the accident, there is some mild language which parents should be aware of, as well as typical sibling banter.

Overall, I really enjoyed the book, and felt the book ended with a great deal of hope.

Happy Reading
