Artemis Fowl: The Atlantis Complex

Artemis Fowl Series: Book 7
Author: Eoin Colfer
Grade level reading: ages 9-12
Lexile level: 900L
My recommended age: 11 and up

Artemis has truly reached his genius potential this time when he discovers a way to stop global warming (whether or not it's a real problem is a subject for another time).  Unfortunately, he has also been struck with "Atlantis Complex Syndrome," just as he's presenting his amazing earth-saving discovery to his friends in the fairy world.  With Artemis temporarily turned gaga, will an old foe of Holly's succeed in escaping fairy prison and destroying the underground magical world?

This book was hilarious, one of my favorite's in the Artemis series.  When I first heard that there was to be another Artemis Fowl book, I figured "enough already"!  How many adventures can we go through without getting repetitive?  I do admit my error in judgement here, because this book was great.  While there were some brief moments of "oh yeah really", overall Colfer did a great job not retelling the same story.  I didn't find anything offensive in this book, it stays on the same plane as the previous volumes.
